Research Interests:

Professor Meinhart's research group concentrates their research efforts in two primary areaís: (1) Fundamental wall turbulence, and (2) Analysis of micro-fluidic devices.

Wall Turbulence

The investigations of wall turbulence focus on enhancing the current fundamental understanding of momentum transport mechanisms in boundary layer flows. This is performed in close collaboration with researchers at the University of Illinois.

Micro-fluids

Professor Meinhartís micro-fluids laboratory is designed to enhance the current understanding of fluidic processes in Microfabricated Silicon devices. This research involves fundamental studies of fluid mechanics on the micron scale, and has many practical applications in the rapidly emerging field of micro-fluidics. These devices have applications in biomedical, pharmecutical, and aerospace industries.
